Guest Artist: Krasen Kralev

As part of the Spring Arts Salon at the National Palace of Culture 2026, Gallery 33 presents an exhibition of painting and sculpture by the artists Dimitar Buyukliyski – Michi, Gancho Karabadzhakov, Hristo Yotov – Yoto, Lyuben Dimanov, and the sculptor Assoc. Prof. Nikolay Ninov. Visitors will also have the opportunity to enjoy paintings by guest artist Krasen Kralev, known for his expressive style.

Here, color is not merely a surface—it is a layering of emotions, memories, and gestures. Each layer of paint holds time and carries an inner light.

The different artistic styles do not compete but instead construct a shared pictorial territory—dynamic, expressive, and polyphonic. The exhibition reveals the layered nature of contemporary Bulgarian art. Each of the established artists represented carries within their work strata of memory, identity, and personal energy.

Krasen Kralev

Gallery 33 presents Krasen Kralev with his latest works from the series JP Universe, Seashores, Dancing Trees, Night Landscapes, Beyond Contemplation, as well as the new series Temples, Mountains, and Me, Myself and I, created between November 2025 and March 2026.

Following an active professional and public career, Kralev returns to his first passion—painting. He began drawing as a child but discontinued his artistic practice in the early 1990s. Since 2017, his artistic journey has entered a new phase, marked by solo exhibitions in Varna, Sofia, and Plovdiv, the first two with charitable causes.

Krasen Kralev’s painting transforms nature into a symbolic world where seas, trees, settlements, and human figures come alive in the rhythm of color and light. His style is a synthesis of decorative expression and modernist abstraction, situated within the context of postmodern art. Inspired by both nature and the subconscious, the artist creates works that transcend reality, transforming it into a living poetry of signs.

Dimitar Buyukliyski – Michi is one of the most prominent names in Bulgarian painting and a pioneer of Cubism in Bulgaria. Distinguished by his perfectionism and precision, he is an inimitable artist of international stature.

Gancho Karabadzhakov creates a rich body of work inspired by tradition, mythology, and contemporary life, transporting us into a world of joy, deep symbolism, and a sense of the mythical. His color palette is radiant, warm, and inviting.

With his surrealist style, Hristo Yotov – Yoto introduces us to a realm of mystery, mysticism, and weightlessness. Through richly composed figurative scenes filled with movement and symbolism, the artist tells stories about the human being and the inner world.

The female figure stands at the center of Lyuben Dimanov’s compositions. In his canvases, we encounter the woman simultaneously as mother, muse, and symbol—an image through which themes of the fragile harmony of human existence unfold.

Nikolay Ninov’s sculptures represent a refined synthesis of luxury, emotion, and masterful technique. His classical works reveal precision in detail, harmony, and carefully constructed structure. The forms are balanced, and the overall impression is one of elegance and lasting value.

The abstract forms created by the artist are not merely decorative—they are expressions of style, harmony, and contemporary aesthetics, suitable for spaces of high cultural and visual significance.
